Mask efficiency and fit
Respiratory masks are used to protect the wearer from fine dust and infectious agents (bacteria, viruses and fungi), so as not to contaminate the respiratory system by inhaling these particles.
There are different levels of protection, depending on the size of the particles to be filtered; but an essential role, in addition to filtration efficiency and the quality of the materials, is played by the fit of the mask on the wearer’s face.
When designing respirators, particular attention must be paid to the ability of the protective device (PPE) to fit tightly over the nose, mouth and chin of the wearer so that there is a perfect fit at the sides.
The ability to mould the respirator to the user’s nose, rather than the flexibility of the fit of the elastic band to the head, greatly influences the level of efficiency of the respirator.
For this reason, Lottini srl produces and is able to supply single or double thread pvc flats, as well as elastic strings suitably designed and manufactured to help make the most of the filtering capacity of the mask and thereby increase the level of efficiency offered.
